About Shiv Nadar University
Shiv Nadar University, also known as Shiv Nadar Institute of Eminence or SNU Gautam Buddha Nagar, was founded in 2011. It is a private multidisciplinary, student-centric research university established under the Shiv Nadar Foundation. Shiv Nadar Foundation is a philanthropic foundation established by Mr. Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL. The University was set up with a pledge to serve the need for higher education and societal welfare in India and also the global community. It mainly aims to develop and educate the path-shapers of tomorrow, capable of responsible and ethical leadership.
It has four schools, viz., Engineering, Natural Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management & Entrepreneurship, and the Academy of Continuing Education. Furthermore, Shiv Nadar University was the first in India to offer a 4-year multidisciplinary research degree. Shiv Nadar has achieved a great feat by becoming youngest university in India to be recognised by the Government of India as an Institute of Eminence. Also, its has been one of the youngest universities to be ranked among the top 100 of NIRF, 7 years in a row (2018-2024). In the THE World Rankings 2024, Shiv Nadar University ranked 601- 800. Also, it has a commendable 1201+rank given by QS Sustainability Ranking 2024. Shiv Nadar University campus is spread across 296 acres of land. Shiv Nadar University admissions are available for the UG, PG, and doctorate programmes. There are around 20 UG, 12 PG and integrated courses and 17+ PhD programmes offered by the University. Shiv Nadar University Scholarships
Shiv Nadar University scholarships encourages the brightest minds to transform their lives and become lifelong leaders by providing necessary support. The university strongly believes in and is committed to helping deserving, financially weak students. Financial Aid and scholarships at Shiv Nadar University are offered to students selected through the specified admission criteria(s) in UG programmes, covering their academic and living expenses partially or fully. The amount of Shiv Nadar University scholarships depends upon the total number of applications, and the committee's decision will be final and binding.
- School Topper’s Scholarship: Students under this scholarship category will receive a 50% waiver on tuition fees for the four-year duration of the undergraduate program, subject to satisfying criteria for continuation of the scholarship. Eligibility for Topper's Scholarship requires the student to be a topper of the school from which he/she completed Class 12 board and must have an aggregate percentile of 95-98% depending on the chosen course.
- Merit-Based Scholarship: Students with at least 95% marks in Class 12 Board or at least 98 percentiles in JEE Mains or at least 40 in IB Board (without bonus point) or A* in all subjects in Cambridge Board can apply for a Merit-Based Scholarship, which offers 25% waiver on Tuition Fees for the duration of the undergraduate program, subject to satisfying criteria for continuation of the scholarship.
- Scholarship for Candidates from Low-income Households: The university supports students from low-income households with a 100% waiver on Tuition Fees and Hostel charges. Mess and Laundry charges have to be borne by the student. The waiver is available for the duration of the undergraduate program, subject to satisfying the criteria for continuation of the scholarship.
- Sports Scholarship: Students with rankings in their sport from 1 to 100 ranks issued by their respective sports federations in India are eligible to apply. Due weightage shall be given to the Certificates of Winners/Participation at International, National, State level tournaments in respective sports/games recognized by National/International sports bodies of respective sports/games.
